Why Cardell is Superior
Why Cardell® Monitors Are "Best in Class" and Why They Continue to Improve
- Special BP algorithms developed for animals have earned the Cardell Monitor worldwide recognition for providing accurate readings in kittens to horses. Other oscillometric monitors just can’t compare. Cardell Monitors are owned and trusted by every single vet school in the U.S. And no other BP device has more published independent validation studies.
- Nellcor’s all-digital OxiMax® technology provides unsurpassed accuracy of SpO2 values, even in low perfusion and during patient motion. Nellcor invented pulse oximetry and is still the worldwide leader because of the consistent ability to provide consistent readings no matter what size pet.
- New 4.0 ECG software (9400 series) adds NEW filtering technology, improved algorithms, and a new 16x gain setting to eliminate the erratic heart rate readings and small difficult to read tracing often seen with many monitors in dogs and cats. These software improvements represent the most significant advance in Cardell technology since the introduction of our veterinary-specific BP algorithms. An ECG esophageal interface kit is also available.
- The Oridion Microstream® Filterline system provides accurate CO2 measurements with an ultra low sample rate of 50 ml/min which is needed with the small tidal volume of many animals. The Filterlines solve the moisture and occlusion problems prevalent with other systems. No water trap is needed and no calibration is necessary.
- Temperature is measured with the leading system worldwide - YSI. A temperature probe is free with every monitor containing ECG.
- A free anesthesia report is now available with Cardell 9400 series monitors. It’s based in Microsoft Excel (2004+) and allows the user to enter patient data, detailed case notes, and with a click of a button, download the tabular trends from the monitor along with a 4-second ECG sample. The resulting report can be saved under a unique name and emailed, printed or attached to the patient’s record in the practice management software. And it’s designed to meet AAHA standards.
- Free upgrades for the life of the monitor (9400 Series monitors). Existing Cardell customers can usually upgrade their monitors by disc from Sharn Veterinary, or download from our website. We are dedicated to keep you current on improvements.
- Experienced tech support from our staff including Janel, a licensed RVT with extensive experience in an AAHA certified general practice (her former practice owner is 2007 Veterinarian of the Year) and Nicole, a certified Emergency Critical Care Technician with years of experience and a 4-year hospital management degree. Both can offer technical support and in-servicing by phone. They also manage the demo program for those who need to try before they buy.
Sharn Veterinary’s objective is to continually improve our monitors so our customers can give the best patient care possible. For that reason we’ll keep looking for innovations that we can pass along to our customers. In addition, we will continue to bring users the latest information on anesthesia monitoring via our website. You’ll also see articles, books, and tutorials.
