Software Updates

In an effort to continuously improve our monitors, as well as the practice of anesthesia monitoring in veterinary medicine, we have developed a standardized anesthesia report for use with the Cardell 9400 series monitors. With input from several board-certified university anesthesiologists, and an eye on the AAHA standards, we developed a template for a comprehensive anesthesia report. Written as an MS Excel program, it will allow one to enter patient data, pre-anesethetic workup notes, case remarks, and with the click of a button, download all of the tabular trend data from the case as well as a 4-second ECG snapshot. The resulting Excel spreadsheet file can be emailed for consultation, printed on plain paper, and attached to the patient record within your practice management software. To enable your monitor to interface with this report, we are releasing software version 4.0. This software also addresses the new Daylite savings times for 2007, as well as introduces an ECG smoothing filter technology that will reduce baseline noise at the x8 and x16 gain settings. Version 4.0 includes all the improvements added with version 3.1, released in latter 2006.

These latest software updates represent the most significant advance in Cardell monitoring technology since the introduction of the very first veterinary-specific BP algorithms that have made the Cardell name today. Aside from some minor cosmetic feature enhancements, these solidify Cardell?s distinguished position as the most advanced, veterinary-specific monitoring technology ever assembled. New ECG algorithms, filtering technology and 16x gain setting eliminate the erratic heart rate readings and small, difficult to read tracings often seen with many monitors in small dogs and cats. This update promises to set us even further apart from the competition. The new software can be identified at power-up with the song, "Talk to the Animals" from the musical Dr. Doolittle.

Features/Benefits of Software version 4.0:

  •  Anesthetic report production capabilities
  •  Produce AAHA compliant, comprehensive anesthetic reports ideal for the "paperless" practice
  •  ECG Smoothing noise reduction filtering technology
  •  Smoother, easier to read waveforms on small patients when monitoring in the x8 and x16 gain settings
  •  New, veterinary-specific ECG algorithms ("Small Animal" and "Large Animal" selections)
  •  Clearer, larger waveforms on cats with significantly more stable heart rate
  •  New gain selection of x16
  •  Enlarged trace makes small, low-amplitude complexes easier to see
  •  Toggle feature for MAP-SYS/DIA
  •  Can display larger MAP reading during surgery
  •  New serial port drivers
  •  Enables future communications enhancements
  • 2007 Daylite savings time update
  • Accurate time/date stamps for reports and records
  • Cardell Trademark sound at power-up
  • Establishes authenticity of "Cardell Inside"
